About Our Homes

We have only built one (1) internet plan in North Buckhead. Otherwise, all of our homes have been from our own mind and heart. These plans were put on paper by local designers or architects and engineered by a local architect.
Our homes, in North Buckhead of Richmond Hill, meet and exceed the stringent hurricane codes required for Bryan County, a coastal community in Georgia.
Our slab is connected to the footer with rebar. We continue using wire mesh throughout the entire slab. This wire mesh is tied to a rebar bond beam which is tied to the footer with the rebar mentioned earlier connecting the slab to the footer. This process exceeds local hurricane codes.
Most walls are constructed with 2x4 on 16" centers unless an exterior wall is over ten (10) feet tall then 2x6 construction is used. Many walls containing plumbing are 2x6 as well.

Foam type insulation is the latest technology in the insulation industry. It can be provided in our homes. It is debated, that in the humid Southeast, it is better for a house to "breath". Some having used foam insulation have added special air circulating equipment and dehumidifying equipment to reduce molds and mildew. We normally use fiberglass bat type insulation with a registered "R" value which foam does not provide.
When one considers that we can make more electricity, cleanly and economically. We might concern ourselves with a natural resource that is limited and we can not make more of, such as water. One may agree that pouring cooled water that once was heated down the drain is a total waste of heating energy and water. Lets consider putting extra money in a circulating pump on our hot water lines. When you turn on hot water, there is no wasted time or water, waiting for the water to get hot.
Well there is much more to talk about, but this should give you some idea of how we decide to build our homes.
